21.Fuji Faith in Iseshima

In Iseshima, rituals based on the Fuji-ko faith and pilgrimages to Mt. Fuji were popular. The opening of Mt. Sengen was marked by festivals and pure-water ablutions, and when climbing Mt. Fuji, dances were performed to the accompaniment of pilgrimage songs.
